Keema Curry

A quick-prep mince curry that's full of spice and flavour. Budget-friendly and endlessly versatile.

Ingredients

  • 500g lamb mince (or beef mince)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 200g peas (frozen is fine)
  • 400g tin chopped tomatoes
  • 150ml beef stock
  • 2 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • Salt
  • Rice, to serve

Method

  1. Brown the mince in a pan and drain off the fat.
  2. Add to the slow cooker with onion, garlic, tomatoes, stock, and spices.
  3. Cook on LOW for 6-7 hours.
  4. Stir in the frozen peas in the last 30 minutes.
  5. Season and serve with rice or stuffed into naan.

Tips

Keema is brilliant in samosas, on toast, or stuffed into peppers.
