Ingredients
- 4 pork chops (bone-in)
- 2 onions, sliced into rings
- 2 eating apples, cored and sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 200ml dry cider
- 1 chicken stock cube dissolved in 100ml water
- 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
- 1 tsp dried sage
- 1 tbsp cornflour mixed with 2 tbsp water
- Salt and pepper
Method
- Place the onions and apple slices in the slow cooker.
- Season the pork chops and place on top.
- Mix the cider, stock, mustard, sage, and garlic. Pour over the chops.
- Cook on Low for 6-8 hours.
- Stir in the cornflour mixture to thicken the gravy for the last 20 minutes.
- Serve with mashed potato.
Tips
Bone-in chops stay juicier in the slow cooker. The apples melt into the gravy and add a lovely sweetness.
